Our Story

How Lineara came to be

Lineara grew out of a simple observation: many families in Thailand hold a quiet tangle of papers — property documents, old passports, insurance folders, family photographs — that nobody has ever properly sorted. When something important is needed, hours are lost searching. When a family member passes, the task of finding and understanding these records falls to people already carrying a great deal.

The name Lineara comes from the idea of lines — the straight, clear lines of a well-kept ledger, and the lines that connect one generation to the next. We started in Phuket in 2019 as a one-person records-sorting service for expatriate families. Over time, word spread among local Thai families and long-term residents alike, and we grew gently into the three services we offer today.

We are not a legal firm and we do not give advice. We are a practical, thoughtful administrative service — the kind of steady hand that many families wish they had when papers piled up.

Our Mission

What we are here to do

Our mission is straightforward: to help families find calm in their paperwork. We want every family we work with to end our time together knowing exactly where their important documents are, why they matter and how to keep them tidy in the future.

We also believe that the stories behind those documents are worth recording. A family tree note, a recorded recollection, a labelled photograph — these things have a life far beyond their practical use. Our Legacy Story Workshops exist because we have seen what it means to families when these fragments are gathered before they are lost.

  • Unhurried care

We never rush a family through a process that deserves patience.

  • Complete discretion

Personal papers remain in your custody at all times. What we see stays with us.

  • Honest scope

We clearly explain what our services do and do not include — and refer you elsewhere when something falls outside our scope.

How We Work

Standards we hold ourselves to

Every engagement follows a set of working principles designed to keep your records, your time and your trust in good hands.

Custody remains yours

Original documents are never removed from your home or office. All scanning and photographing takes place on-site, with you present.

Scope agreement in writing

Before any session begins, we confirm the scope of work in writing so there are no surprises about what is included or what falls outside our remit.

No third-party data storage

Digital copies of your documents are delivered to your own chosen storage — a USB drive, external hard disk or cloud folder. We do not retain copies on our own systems after a project closes.

Bilingual labelling

Where families hold documents in both Thai and English, we prepare bilingual folder labels and index sheets so that all family members can find what they need.

Clear explanations throughout

We explain what we are doing and why at each step. Families are never left wondering what is happening with their papers or their time.

No advisory services offered

Lineara does not provide legal, financial or estate planning guidance of any kind. We are an administrative and educational service, and we are clear about that distinction at all times.

About Our Work

Personal records organisation in Phuket and across Thailand

Families in Thailand — both Thai families and those who have settled here from abroad — often carry a particular kind of administrative complexity. Property papers may exist in two languages. Household records built across decades sit in mismatched folders. Family photographs from the 1970s share a drawer with current insurance schedules. No one has had time to sort it properly, and the task feels larger than it is.

Lineara works slowly and carefully alongside families to bring those records into a system that holds. Personal Records Organising sessions are practical half-day or full-day engagements that leave families with a labelled folder structure, a simple index and a set of digital backups on their own storage device. The result is not perfect — no real household is — but it is findable, legible and maintainable.

Our Legacy Story Workshops take a different shape. Over two to four sessions, families work with a facilitator to record personal histories, map family connections and describe the significance of particular objects or documents. The output belongs entirely to the family: notes, prompts and recordings kept for their own use. Nothing is published, shared or retained by Lineara.

The Memory Archive Service is our most thorough offering. For families with a significant collection of photographs, letters, household records or personal objects worth preserving, this service produces a well-catalogued digital archive — complete with descriptions, dates and context notes — that can be passed on and added to over years.

All three services are administrative and educational in nature. Lineara does not draft documents, does not provide legal or financial guidance and does not require any information beyond what is needed to complete the organisational task at hand. We are based at 77 Thalang Road in the centre of Phuket's old town, and we travel to families throughout the island and surrounding provinces by arrangement.
